BE AWARE OF MCSO IMPERSONATION SCAMS
There is a current scam where the victim receives a phone call from a criminal who identifies themselves as an MCSO employee and informs the victim there is a warrant for their arrest (Ex. Missing jury duty). The victim is told in order to quash (get rid of) the warrant, they must make some sort of payment (usually by buying gift cards, wire transfers, cryptocurrency, and/or providing cash, jewelry, gold, or other precious metals to a courier). If the victim refuses to make the payment, they are often threatened with arrest and/or other penalties.
THIS IS A SCAM!!!
NO Law Enforcement or Government Agency will ever call, email, or text you and ask you for money or payment for anything.
