The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is a professional, full service law enforcement agency. It provides top quality services to the diverse population of one of the nation's fastest growing counties. It has the responsibility of providing basic patrol, investigative and detention services to contract towns & cities and to the unincorporated communities within the county. To carry out these functions, the Office has organized the Patrol Bureau. This bureau consists of seven districts, each having responsibility for a portion of the county's 9,226 square miles. (This is an area larger than the state of Rhode Island.) These seven districts are complemented by other county-wide divisions listed above.
