The methods for visitation differ between facilities based on when the jail was designed, current technology, and the need for additional security measures. Durango, Towers, and Estrella Jails utilize a contact visitation system, meaning the visitors and inmates are in the same room together during visits. Fourth Avenue, Lower Buckeye, and Tents Jails utilize a modern video visitation system, allowing individuals to conduct visits through video monitors and handsets, while keeping theses facilities free of potential contraband.
