Video Visitation
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office firmly believes that visitation is an integral aspect of the jail system.
Sheriff’s Office facilities receive hundreds of thousands of visitors per year, giving inmates something to look
forward to, providing incentive for them to behave appropriately while incarcerated, and allowing them to maintain
a necessary bond with family and friends. The methods for visitation differ between facilities based on when the
jail was designed, current technology, and the need for additional security measures. Durango, Towers, and
Estrella Jails utilize a contact visitation system, meaning the visitors and inmates are in the same room
together during visits. Fourth Avenue, Lower Buckeye, and Tents Jails utilize a modern video visitation system,
allowing individuals to conduct visits through video monitors and handsets, while keeping theses facilities free
of potential contraband. Visitation hours vary between each facility, and if you need further information regarding
the hours for any jail in particular, please contact the Sheriff’s Information Line at (602) 876-0322.
