Died in the line of duty 1/8/2012Responding to a burglar alarm call in Anthem, Deputy William “Bill” Coleman contacted a subject sleeping in a van near the scene. The subject who slid open the door, pushed out the barrel of an AR-15 assault rifle and started firing. Suspect fired using metal-piercing military-grade ammo. One of the green-tipped .223-caliber rounds slammed into Deputy Coleman just beneath his Kevlar vest. Deputy Coleman never had a chance, he succumbed to multiple wounds.
